Where I’ve Been and Why I’m Happy #2

Where I’ve Been:

  • In Corson Auditorium and Harvey 1 for Rent which opens this Friday!
  • Harvey classrooms for Home Free! and The Seagull(?!?!) rehearsal, and working on designs for Thoroughly Modern Millie.
  • My academic classes battling the demons of senioritis.
  • In and about campus with a very special significant someone.
    • Yelling at Maddie Allen for flirting with this very special significant someone.
  • On phone calls with my parents and teachers figuring out where I’ll be going to college.
  • In Phoenix Theatre directing Mass Cycle: A Meditation on Cancer, which will have a return engagement during Festival!
  • In basements doing art with friends.
  • Living in my room with my incredible roommate and loving the visitors that join us.
  • Holding people very close to me in these final weeks.
  • Frohlich to record the cast album of Elegies: A Song Cycle, and working with The Crescendudes.
  • The library taking naps, printing, and reading.
  • The offices of David Montee, Robin Ellis, and Bill Church trying to savor every moment.
  • On the phone (in various forms of correspondence) with Michael Arden, Al Silber, Nick Westrate, Alan Menken, etc. to nominate David Montee for a Tony Award.
  • The Melody Freeze drowning myself in ice creams.
  • Home for spring break, where I visited more schools and saw more family.
  • Doing $27 worth of laundry over 6 hours and losing my mind in the basement of Picasso.

Why I’m Happy:

  • I will be attending Pace University’s School of Performing Arts for BA Directing (International Performance Ensemble)!
  • Rent opens this week and is pushing every muscle in my body to be the best it can be.
  • Elegies and Mass Cycle have brought happiness and creative fulfillment.
  • Aforementioned very special significant someone.
  • I love my school.
  • I love my teachers.
  • I love my friends.
  • I love my family.
  • I love my support system.
  • I love the shows I’m working on.
  • I love the people I work on them with.
  • I love myself.

Breathe.
